Like many wise people have said: "Moderation in all things." Similarly I stay in the middle ground concerning many matters.
Capitalism is fine, I do not preach an abolition of it, or promote communism, rather I believe that we, as a cognitive society, civilization, and species need to analyze if capitalism in its current form is best serving our needs as a worldwide transnational Humanity. The future and the needs to come must be considered when we look at the path that capitalism is taking our home of Earth with its globalization.
Like a young child has no real concept of the future, so too have we indulged ourselves as a civilization, without regard as to the long-term ramifications of our actions. If we desire to maintain our current level of civil functioning, and advance; if we want to continue as an organized society, it is imperative that we develop long and short-term goals in a democratic and equal manner. For our rate of acceleration to slow down to a more healthy and realistic one, it will probably have to drop or decline sharply at first. It is very likely that we will need to sacrifice some current luxuries or conveniences, in order to progress and change our course to a more moderate one. |
